human centered lighting
The invention of the blue high brightness LED revolutionized the established lamp and lighting industry nearly overnight. Incandescent bulbs have disappeared already and discharge lamps are now going to vanish to make place for high brightness white LED’s everywhere in the near future.
Everyone in the lighting industry is looking at LED’s for a power and cost efficient light source substitution, nearly no one is looking at the physiological effects and improvement potentials of this substitution process.
We in ANDROLITE combining sophisticated biosensors, environmental sensors and situational data processing, we intend to build a smart lamp, self-adapting to what the user needs. We consider the LED’s as an integral part of an electronic platform, capable to process a real-time data flow to build an autonomous light engine. And this autonomous light engine is supposed to take care of the human user, even when the lighting is switched off.
